OMEC to Take Part in the UfM Economic Forum in Cairo
Cairo will host the UfM Economic Forum on 19–22 October 2026, where OMEC will join partners and stakeholders from across the Euro-Mediterranean region. Organized by the Union for the Mediterranean, the Forum builds on seven successive editions of the UfM Trade and Investment Forum held over the past seven years, carrying forward its focus on trade, investment, and economic integration while introducing a new thematic focus each year.
This year’s edition turns to pathways for engaging the private sector as a key driver of sustainable economic development and growth in the region. The programme opens with a full day of dialogue and best-practice sharing on investment facilitation, with particular attention to sustainable energy investment and connectivity, followed by two days of workshops and capacity-building sessions on digital trade and the Pan Euro-Mediterranean (PEM) Convention on Rules of Origin.
