OMEC at the TEASIMED 3 Open Day – Mediterranean Power System Scenario Building Workshop
OMEC will take part in the Open Day of the Workshop on Scenario Building for the Mediterranean Power System (2040–2050), organized by Med-TSO under its EC-funded TEASIMED 3 project, taking place on Tuesday 20 October 2026 in Casablanca, Morocco.
Ms. Lisa Guarrera, OMEC’s Director of Modeling & Monitoring, will represent OMEC at this full-day public session, in an open exchange with Med-TSO members. The consultation aims to gather stakeholders’ visions and expectations ahead of Med-TSO’s scenario storyline building and harmonized data collection. Discussions will focus on long-term outlooks for the Mediterranean power system across the 2035, 2040 and 2050 horizons, feeding directly into the Mediterranean Masterplan and the Cost-Benefit Analysis of priority interconnection projects. The 2050 horizon, introduced for the first time, will test scenarios against mid-century emission targets and provide a strategic view of the structural changes ahead, including deep electrification and emerging system-flexibility needs.
