OMEC at MOC 2026 – Mediterranean Offshore Conference & Exhibition
OMEC took part in the Mediterranean Offshore Conference & Exhibition (MOC 2026), held from 20 to 22 October 2026 in Alexandria, Egypt.
On the conference’s opening day, Tuesday 20 October, OMEC’s Director General spoke in a Strategic Conversation titled “Gas in Transition: Building a Lower-Carbon Mediterranean Energy System,” which looked at how the Mediterranean energy industry can maintain energy security while reducing the carbon intensity of gas production, infrastructure and consumption. Its themes included reducing methane emissions and the carbon intensity of upstream gas production, electrification, efficiency and cleaner operations across the gas and LNG value chain, the role of CCUS, hydrogen and low-carbon gases alongside conventional natural gas, and ensuring gas remains competitive and investable through the energy transition.
The Director General also joined a closed-door Leadership Roundtable, “Egypt’s Energy Future: New Frontiers for Investment and Partnership,” held during the conference with His Excellency Karim Badawi and a select group of senior leaders. The roundtable gathered industry leadership, investors and policymakers for an exchange on the future of Egypt’s energy sector and its contribution to a more secure and connected regional energy system, including how closer alignment between governments and industry can build confidence, sustain investment and strengthen resilience across the region.
