Online Briefing Ahead of OMEC Strategy Committee Meeting
OMEC had the pleasure of organising a closed-door high-level online briefing on 29 January, ahead of the OMEC Strategy Committee meeting held the following day in Paris. Designed to inform and enrich the Committee’s strategic discussions, the briefing featured Mr. Ferid Belhaj, former World Bank Vice President and a recognised expert in geopolitics and international development, as guest speaker.
Bringing together around 35 participants from OMEC members in a hybrid format and with the participation of OMEC Chairman Mr. Lapo Pistelli, the briefing fostered a frank and interactive exchange. Members actively engaged in the discussion through targeted and, at times, critical questions, reflecting shared concerns over the current geopolitical environment, regional security challenges in the Mediterranean, and the implications for energy security under changing climate conditions.
