OMEC Participation in the Festival dell’Energia 2026
The 14th edition of the Festival dell’Energia took place in Lecce, Italy from 28 to 30 May. This edition focused on the theme “Energy and freedom: Europe facing the future.” On this occasion, a side event co-organised by CMCC and OMEC under the theme “Strategic Mediterranean: Energy, Corridors, and Climate” took place. The event was moderated by Roberto Poti, OMEC Senior Advisor, with the participation of OMEC, CMCC, as well as OMEC members, GSE and Confindustria Energia, among others. At this occasion, OMEC visited CMCC headquarters. The visit and the meeting with the President, DG and colleagues of CMCC gave OMEC the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the scope and potential of CMCC research activities, particularly those focused on Ocean Modelling and Prediction. The discussion on possible future developments of the collaboration between OMEC and CMCC was equally productive.
