OMEC Co-Organises Webinar on Eco-Design and Sustainability in CSP Manufacturing
The webinar “Ecodesign Concepts in CSP Manufacturing for Increased Environmental and Economic Competitiveness — Insights from the MSA-Trough” will take place on 7 July 2026 and is co-organised by OMEC within the framework of the Horizon Europe MSA-Trough project.
As the EU advances its 2050 climate-neutrality and competitiveness goals, how we design and manufacture clean energy technologies matters as much as the energy they produce. Life Cycle Assessment studies show that more than 60% of a Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) plant’s environmental impact comes from the manufacturing phase — meaning the largest gains in cost and sustainability are won at the design stage.
In this session, the MSA-Trough team will share early insights on how eco-design and innovation can make CSP manufacturing cleaner, cheaper and more circular, followed by an interactive roundtable and open Q&A.
OMEC, as a key project partner of MSA-Trough, contributes to this work through its leadership in the Socio-economic and Life Cycle Assessment workstreams, as well as its active role in the project’s dissemination activities.
The webinar is open to researchers, engineers, manufacturers, policymakers and all stakeholders interested in sustainable energy innovation. Free registration is open now.
