International Conference on the Sustainable Blue Economy in the Mediterranean
OMEC participated in the international conference “Advancing the Sustainable Blue Economy in the Mediterranean: Forging a Sustainable Blue Economy in the Mediterranean through Transformative Innovation”, which took place on 17–18 June 2026 in Ravenna, Italy, within the framework of Ravenna Sea Capital 2026.
The conference brought together institutional representatives, governance bodies, research organizations, and industry stakeholders to discuss innovation, financing mechanisms, and low-carbon offshore technologies in support of a sustainable blue economy in the Mediterranean.
On 17 June, the OMEC Director General participated in the high-level political dialogue “The Future of Our Sea: Towards a Mediterranean Sustainable Blue Economy.” The session focused on strengthening cooperation across the Mediterranean, with particular attention to the Southern shore, as a means of addressing governance fragmentation and fostering strategic alliances for sustainable development.
