OME and ADEME addressing plastic pollution in the Mediterranean Sea
The OME is leading a project with ADEME for the prevention and reduction of plastics in the Mediterranean Sea. They held a workshop in October 2022 in Paris entitled “Prevention and reduction of plastics in the Mediterranean Sea: role of the energy companies” focusing on innovative solutions and the role of energy companies, and organised two side events at COP27.
After discussing progress and implementation of proposed solutions on 7 June 2023, the OME organised in Paris the final meeting of this initiative on 22 June 2023. The meeting presented project outcomes, including findings and recommendations. This collaborative effort aims to address plastic pollution by involving various stakeholders and emphasizing innovative approaches.
