Driving Energy: Transition, Security, and Decarbonisation
OMEC participated in the new edition of the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES) 2024 held in Cairo from 19 to 21 February 2024. As the epicentre for global energy dialogue in Africa and the Mediterranean, EGYPES 2024 was the most pivotal edition to date. With over 35,000 attendees and 2,200 delegates from across the energy supply and value chains, the event featured comprehensive discussions on global energy dynamics, industry trends, regional cooperation and collective efforts towards achieving net-zero emissions.
OMEC General Director participated in the Strategy Conference of EGYPES, during a session on “Chasing green, clean and renewable energies”. Other panelists included H.E. Nasser Kamel, Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), Mohamed Ismail Mansour, Co-Founder and CEO of Infinity and Chairman, Infinity Power, Terje Pilskog, CEO of Scatec, Eng. Dragoș Roibu, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Energy of Romania, Robert Valk, CEO and Founder of Renergy Group. During the event, bilateral meetings took place with H.E. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt, Osama Mobarez, Secretary General of the East Med Gas Forum (EMGF) and Dr El Khayat, Chairman of the NREA.
