Egypt-EU High-Level Conference in Cairo
Following the high-level event held in October 2025, OMEC’s General Director will moderate a dedicated session on gas at the Egypt–EU High-Level Conference, scheduled for 10 January 2026 in Cairo.
The session, titled “Turning Up the Heat: Gas in the Spotlight of the Energy Transition”, will highlight Egypt’s growing role as a strategic energy hub in the Eastern Mediterranean. Discussions will focus on cooperation between Egypt and the European Union, addressing gas markets, regional integration, and the role of gas as a transition fuel, alongside the increasing deployment of renewable energy and strengthened regional cooperation under frameworks such as the East Mediterranean Gas Forum.
